Will a plain band scratch?

A band can develop scratches with wear. Ask a jeweller about suitable care and whether polishing is appropriate for its metal and finish.

Can a plain band be engraved inside?

Usually. How much text fits depends on the inner circumference and the width of the band, so a longer inscription needs either a wider band or a larger size. A jeweller will confirm the character count before cutting.

Which profile should I choose?

Flat, half-round and knife-edge are the common sections, and the difference is felt rather than seen. A half-round rolls against the neighbouring finger; a flat band presents two edges. Trying each on is more useful than choosing from a drawing.

Is a plain band easier to repair than a patterned one?

A plain design may simplify some resizing work, but feasibility depends on the metal, construction and required adjustment. Ask a jeweller to assess the specific band.
